Find Prince George’s County Recent Arrests

Prince George's County recent arrests live in more than one drawer. There is no single web feed that lists every booking. So match your question to the office that owns the record. Corrections answers who is in county custody right now. The arresting police agency keeps its own report. The Sheriff handles warrants. The courts hold the case result. A person arrested in Prince George's County might be released or moved elsewhere. Some are never booked into the county jail at all. Want to know who was arrested in Prince George's County? Start with the agency that made the arrest. The county also publishes no official mugshot gallery.

Prince George’s Recent Arrest Channels

No official page posts a live, named booking roster for the county. Instead, the Department of Corrections custody information points the public toward phone services. Call the Inmate Locator at 301-952-7102 for current custody. Or try the automated line at 301-952-4800. Corrections also lists 301-952-7164. Release & Records takes calls at 301-952-7158. These lines answer custody questions only. The closest thing to a daily public product is the PGPD Crime Report. It gives incident counts in the county police department's main jurisdiction, not names of people booked. Municipal police departments are left out. There are no booking numbers, photos, or bond results in it either.

When County Arrests Become Bookings

A booking is a process, not one quick page update. The county Corrections annual report lays out the steps. An officer completes a statement of charges. Then come photographs, fingerprints, criminal-history checks, a warrant check, and presentation to a commissioner. Regional processing happens at District I County Police Station in Hyattsville. The Upper Marlboro Correctional Center handles it too. That explains a lag. A fresh arrest may not show up in a custody inquiry right away. The history does not tell you where any one person was processed. For a new arrest, find the arresting agency first. Ask if the person was cited and released, transferred, or delivered to county Corrections. Then call the Inmate Locator. Bond-review results come through that same line after 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The county promises no web-posting hour or weekend refresh. So a blank web search never proves an arrest did not happen.

Arrest
A person is taken into custody or charged under legal authority.
Booking
Identity, charge, fingerprint, photograph, and intake work completed after an arrest or transfer.
Bond review
A judicial review of release terms, not a decision on guilt.
Disposition
The court’s later result, such as dismissal, plea, acquittal, or conviction.

Prince George’s Arrest Roster Limits

The Prince George's County Correctional Center sits at 13400 Dille Drive in Upper Marlboro. It is the county's main local lockup. Yet its public Corrections pages offer no searchable roster. The official "Inmate Locator" is just a contact entry. A commercial page using the jail's name is not the county roster. Keep your phone inquiry narrow. Exact details cut down mistaken matches when names are common. Operators may limit what they share because of juvenile rules, sealed records, safety concerns, or policy.

Detail to have readyWhy it helps
Full legal nameStarts the current-custody match
Date of birth, if knownSeparates similar names
Approximate arrest date and placeDistinguishes a new intake from an older matter
Arresting agencyIdentifies who may hold the arrest report
Case or booking numberConnects the inquiry to a specific existing record
  1. Call 301-952-7102 and ask whether the person is presently held in county custody.
  2. Ask whether the status is pretrial, awaiting bond review, released, or transferred.
  3. If Corrections has no match, return to the arresting agency and verify citation, release, or transfer.
  4. Use Maryland Case Search for filed charges and the later disposition.

County custody is only one stage of a case. A person sentenced into state custody belongs in the Maryland DPSCS locator instead. Federal and immigration detention run on separate federal systems. Someone released may drop out of a live custody answer while an agency booking or arrest record still sits on file.

Where County Arrest Records Appear

Start with public agencies and write down the source date. Each channel reflects a different status in the process. Mixing incident counts, warrants, booking records, and court cases into one profile invites false conclusions.

WTOP, Patch, Greenbelt News ReviewStory-dependentEditorialSelected event context, never a complete roster

Third-party sites fill the gap with mixed results. The RecentlyBooked county page carries no current entries and gets the county jail structure wrong. JailExchange's county jail page is an editorial guide, not a live Corrections feed. Arrests.org offers no verified county section. Busted Newspaper does not either. None of these services can confirm custody or completeness. The SpotCrime daily archive is a third-party incident tool, not a booking roster.

Prince George’s Sheriff Arrest Tips

The Office of the Sheriff publishes the Prince George's Sheriff MD app, with links to its Apple and Google store listings. Its description covers tips, reports, and public-safety information. It promises no live booking roster. There is no inmate search or photo archive inside. Treat the app as an outreach tool, not a Corrections substitute.

Use the app for the functions it lists. For immediate danger, call emergency services.

Prince George’s Arrests by City

City lines change which report you should request. Bowie and Greenbelt run their own police departments. College Park layers contract, county, and university policing over one area. Upper Marlboro keeps a town department while serving as the county seat.

Prince George’s Arrest Record Fields

One arrest can scatter records across several offices. The arresting agency may hold the incident or arrest report. Corrections may hold intake, booking, custody, release, or photograph records. A court keeps the filed charging papers and outcomes. The Sheriff maintains records from its warrant and service work.

FieldWhat it may show
Name and identifiersThe person associated with the agency record
Arrest and booking datesSeparate event times that may not match
Booking or case numberAn agency key for a specific record
Charges as bookedAccusations recorded at intake, subject to court change
Bond or release informationCustody terms at a stated point in time
Holding or transfer locationThe responsible agency or facility
Booking photographAn intake image if created and lawfully released

Fields vary from case to case. Not every arrest record holds every box. Juvenile files, sealed cases, expunged matters, safety-sensitive material, and open investigations may be restricted, and a citation with release can still leave a police and court trail even with no county jail booking attached. Ask for the record that already exists rather than asking an office to compile something new.

Prince George’s Arrest Photos

Booking in Prince George's County can produce a photograph. The county publishes no official photo roster. Maryland runs a separate state locator for people held by the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. A criminal-justice image inside the system, a Sheriff warrant profile photo, and a news photo are three different things, and none of them is interchangeable with a county booking photo.

Need a specific booking image? Ask the custodian who holds it. State that you want an existing booking photograph, give the person's full name, add an approximate booking date, and name the agency. Exemptions and redactions can still apply.

Request a Prince George’s Arrest Record

Maryland's Public Information Act is the route for an existing record that is not published. The county's MPIA custodian directory splits Police, Corrections, and Sheriff contacts apart. Send it to the office that holds the arrest record.

  1. Identify the record as an arrest report, booking sheet, booking photograph, release record, or Sheriff-created warrant record.
  2. Give the full name, date of birth if known, approximate event date, arresting agency, and any case or booking number.
  3. Ask for electronic copies when practical and request a fee estimate before costly work begins.
  4. Keep the response. If material is withheld, read the cited legal basis before narrowing or challenging it.

Police report copies follow the department's stated rules, and authorized search or duplication charges may apply. No one price fits every booking or photo request. Maryland General Provisions §§ 4-201 and 4-203 set out access and response duties for agencies. Even so, agencies never invent new records.

Prince George’s Arrest Report Fees

One caution about money. A police report price is not the price of every booking record or image. PGPD's published route lists a $10 charge for a police-report copy. Its MPIA information adds a $50 hourly rate for certain search and preparation work, but only after the first two hours. Those numbers belong to the police process alone. Corrections may set a different lawful cost. So may the Sheriff, after reviewing the particular request.

Ask for an estimate before work starts. Prefer electronic delivery. Narrow a wide date span when you can. A fee never guarantees that a booking photograph or every requested field gets released, since the custodian may redact protected content, withhold exempt material, or report that no such record exists. If the arrest came from Bowie Police, Greenbelt Police, Upper Marlboro Police, or University of Maryland Police, follow that agency's records procedure rather than PGPD's price schedule.

Maryland Arrest Photo Law

Maryland General Commercial Law § 14-1324 targets certain no-fee demands to strip criminal-record information or booking photographs from covered websites. Not every page qualifies. Nor does anything vanish at once. Start with the underlying record, and turn to the Judiciary's adult expungement information when the case may qualify. The District Court forms catalog lists adult expungement forms.

Use the current court form and its instructions directly. For a stale unofficial page, save its URL and the capture date. Correct or expunge the source record where that applies. Then use the publisher's free correction route. County records follow retention schedules, so a gap in a current system does not mean destruction, and an archived entry does not prove present custody.

County Arrest Warrants and Wanted Listings

The Sheriff's Active Warrant Database is the main official warrant source for Prince George's County. It offers a search tool, profile entries, some photographs, and tip links. The listing itself is the status. A warrant can be served, recalled, corrected, or addressed by a court. When that happens, the entry changes. The Sheriff's warrant page displays the live listings.

Open the live source for the current entry. Skip saved images and copied lists. Never approach a person shown in a warrant listing. Safety tips go through the Sheriff's official tip route or law enforcement. Anyone checking their own possible status should reach out to counsel, the court, or the Sheriff to resolve it safely.

Track a County Arrest Safely

Maryland VINE adds notifications to a source map. It does not create an arrest history. The statewide service supports custody, court, and protective-order information, with notices by phone, text, email, or app. Register multiple contact methods after locating the right record. Telephone registration uses a four-digit PIN. Unanswered calls can continue for at least 24 hours.

The state promises no separate, exhaustive feed from the Prince George's County Correctional Center and no fixed update time for each local booking, release, transfer, or bond event. Search Maryland in VINELink first. Check the displayed facility and status. Then confirm an important county result with Corrections. A no-result screen can reflect timing, spelling, another custody system, or a released person, so it does not prove an arrest never happened. Federal BOP and ICE custody also sit outside the county phone system.

After a Prince George’s Arrest

An arrest in Prince George's County does not end at booking. A commissioner or judge takes up release conditions first. After that, a charging document opens the path through District or Circuit Court. Hearings follow there. The Maryland Judiciary Case Search displays public case data once a matter is filed. For criminal files and copy requests, the Prince George's Circuit Court Criminal Division helps. It lays out the court's own route.

A court file provides the later procedural record that a booking source cannot supply.

Charges set at booking can change. A court disposition is the record to rely on.

Arrest Custody Beyond the County

The Maryland DPSCS Incarcerated Individual Locator tracks people in state custody, which is not the same set as Prince George's County recent arrests. Someone can be in the county jail, already released, held federally, or in immigration custody. A blank result rules none of that out. For federal inmates from 1982 forward, including register number, age, release date, and location, use the Bureau of Prisons locator. The ICE detainee locator searches by A-number and country of birth or by biographical details. Neither tool is a county booking feed or a Maryland case outcome. Booked or released? A live county answer reflects custody now. A police report, a court record, and a state or federal locator each describe a different layer, so keep each result tied to its source.
